Kristine Stepanyan is a licensed psychologist with a strong clinical and research background in personality psychology and over twelve years’ experience in the mental health field. Kristine works with individuals, couples and family through integrative approaches mostly including psychodynamic, existential-humanistic, gestalt and cognitive behavioral psychotherapy. Kristine has received appropriate training in LGBTQ + community psychological area and she has experience of working with them both on individual and couple levels.

Primarily, in Armenia, as well as later in Quebec, with the School Board Marguerite Bourgeoys (Commission scolaire Marguerite-Bourgeoys (CSMB), Montreal), Kristine has worked as school psychologist with children and youth over twelve years, realizing upon request psychological evaluations on academic performance and executive, attentional and emotional functioning related profils, upon requests of school direction, and providing school and the students’ parents with the psychological reports.
Moreover, in Montreal and in Laval, Kristine also worked with refugees’ families providing them with psychosocial interventions and, in that framework, with the psychosocial support to children, adolescents, youth, their parents and grandparents. She has a special interest in the role that mental health issues play in transgenerational, transcultural introspective subjective realities and in the families’ relationship distress, attachment and relational patterns. Kristine provides professional services in French, English and Armenian.

Ayant son champ d’expertise en psychologie ethnique et communautaire et spécialisée en domaine transculturel, Kristine a de l’expérience de travail avec les familles ayant parcours migratoires. Elle porte un intérêt particulier au rôle que jouent les problèmes de santé mentale dans les réalités subjectives transgénérationnelles et transculturelles, ainsi qu’à la détresse, à l’attachement et aux schémas relationnels des relations familiales.
