As an art therapist, I help clients identify and explore complex emotions and personal challenges through creativity and art making, in addition to verbal processing. Using art materials (which can include paint, clay, pencil crayons, fabrics, collaging images, etc.) as a mediator in the therapy process provides a different way to approach communication, motivation, and resiliency. By encouraging engagement in art making, it is my goal to offer you new capacities to express difficult and complex feelings and experiences to seek understanding, growth, and acceptance. Art skills are absolutely not necessary, just curiosity and wish to try!
My aim in my work is to offer a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore your own unique creative process as it relates to healing. I will work collaboratively and relationally with you to identify your strengths and motivation for change. I have experience working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, attachment, and social-relational challenges and have supported individuals through difficult transitions, losses, and personal development. I also have experience supporting adolescents experiencing mental health challenges related to learning disabilities (LDMH), and gender and sexuality. I approach trauma through healing centered engagement.
It would be my pleasure to answer any questions you might have about art therapy or my process; please don’t hesitate to reach out.
