I am a Psychotherapist, Couple and Family Therapist, and Clinical Sexologist with over 20 years experience in providing therapy services to individuals, couples, and families. I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Sexology from L’Université du Quebec a Montreal, and a Post-Master’s Diploma in Couple and Family Therapy from the Argyle Institute of Human Relations.

Mine is an integrative approach involving Cognitive-Behavioural Approach and Psychodynamic when working with individuals and Systemic-Interactional Approach when working with couples and families. I operate with the principles of LGBTQIA-affirmative and feminist-informed practice. Creating a sense of safety in the therapeutic environment is of primary importance as well as providing an anti-oppressive and accessible space for my clients. I understand accessibility to include, but not be limited to, sliding scales and the provision of, to the best of my abilities, physical access in terms of mobility, gender, and a scent free environment. I am also committed to working to provide a space free from discrimination on the basis of race, class, size, gender, ability, age, sexuality, religion and status. I identify as a member of the LGBTQ community and have a passion for providing services to this population.

I am able to provide insurance receipts for my services to any insurance company that accepts sexologist, couple and family therapist, or psychotherapist receipts. I also offer a sliding scale to clients based on financial need. I will be accepting new clients as of September 2018, and am able to respond to client emails within 24-48 hours. My office is located within a 4 minute walking distance of the Vendome metro. You can reach me by email at catherinenovac@gmail.com.
